Venturi Mask

Venturi mask is a medical oxygen delivery device designed to provide precise and consistent concentrations of oxygen to patients, particularly those with chronic respiratory conditions like COPD. It works on the principle of air entrainment, mixing oxygen with room air to deliver a fixed and controlled oxygen concentration. This accuracy helps prevent complications related to over- or under-oxygenation.

The mask covers the patient’s nose and mouth and connects to an oxygen source through a jet adapter. Each color-coded adapter corresponds to a specific oxygen concentration, typically ranging from 24% to 60%. The user selects the appropriate adapter based on the prescribed oxygen level. As oxygen flows through the adapter, it draws in a set amount of ambient air through side ports, creating a consistent oxygen mixture regardless of the patient’s breathing pattern.
